Dr. Roland Thorpe speaking at his alma mater.

On Feb. 8, Dr. Roland Thorpe, Purdue College of Science alumnus and associate scientist for Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, delved into how current research for health disparities is flawed in some samples. Thorpe explored how socioeconomic status can affect results in studies. The poor samples of minorities skew vital information.

His talk was sponsored by the Department of Statistics and was held in a packed Stanley Coulter, Room 239.
