I am originally from southeastern Wisconsin, and have my B.A. in Chemistry from Lawrence University (Go Vikings!) in Appleton, WI. I received my Ph.D. in Physical Organic Chemistry from Purdue (Go Boilers!), and did postdoctoral work through a joint program with Eli Lilly and the University of Minnesota. My then-fiancée and I came back to West Lafayette to work at companies at the Purdue Research Park, and I worked at a contract research company specializing in drug crystallization. After taking several years off to raise my kids, I worked for several years in Purdue's Chemistry Department as an organic chemistry laboratory coordinator. I recently came back to Purdue as an academic advisor for chemistry, biology, and pre-professional students. I live not too far from campus with my husband and two kids, and I enjoy cooking, reading a good book with a cup of tea, introducing my kids to old internet memes, and playing the bass in a rock band with a group of friends.
