I'm an Academic Advisor for upper division Biology majors and am a graduate of Purdue (Forestry and Natural Resources). I was a Field Biologist for nine years at an environmental consulting firm where I documented environmental impacts related to proposed road projects in Indiana and Kentucky. In that job, I appreciated the balance of gaining great field experience while also serving on multi-disciplinary teams, coordinating with federal/state agencies, and working with the public. In addition, I’m an ordained minister. I served as an Associate Pastor for 12 years and have the privilege of continuing ministerial work in various capacities. I met my husband over 20 years ago when we were students here and we recently moved back to the area with our teenage daughter. I was in the Purdue All American Marching Band -- GO AAMB!! -- and music has always been a big part of my life. In my free time, you'll catch me reading or enjoying the outdoors. For me, Advising certainly involves helping students develop an academic plan and navigate campus life, but it's much more than that. I enjoy getting to know my advisees and hope to encourage them to be resilient, to discover their passions, and to embrace their calling.
TRIVIA: I grew up in Fort Myers, Florida, where the Winter Estates of both Thomas Edison and Henry Ford are located.
