The College of Science was established more than 100 years ago. Over the years, Purdue Science has become a world force. Numerous research initiatives have changed lives and have advanced fields. Here are just some of our accomplishments:

Enrollment

  • Computer Science undergraduate enrollment has more than doubled since 2011.

  • Almost 1,000 incoming freshmen for 2016-17

  • 2015-16 freshmen had the second highest SAT and ACT scores on campus; 2016-17 scores are 1,877 and 29, respectively

  • 3,589 undergraduate students for 2015-16

  • More than 1,000 graduate students

  • Seven elite departments

  • Every Purdue student takes a class from our departments of Mathematics or Statistics.

Alumni

  • More than 40,000 alumni
  • It's not just Engineering that has the astronauts. Andrew Feustel received degrees from the Department of Earth, Atmospheric, and Planetary Sciences before his NASA space shuttle missions in 2009 and 2011. He is scheduled to return to space in 2018 for a six-month stay on the International Space Station.
