The Susan Bulkeley Butler Institute for the Development of Women Leaders

The Susan Bulkeley Butler Institute was founded by retired Accenture executive Susan Butler as a “power center” for resources related to women in leadership, as a clearinghouse for the latest research on women’s leadership issues, and as a means of offering leadership training for women and girls, with the mission of helping them develop their leadership potential. Through lectures, discussions, and interactive conferences, the Institute works to instill and nurture key leadership traits and talents. Events are held in various locations across the United States. The Institute also publishes a popular monthly e-Newsletter whose audience has been growing rapidly since its inception. Topics covered run the gamut of leadership skills and issues, from teamwork to time management.

Committee on Institutional Cooperation (CIC)

The CIC, established in 1958, is the academic consortium of 12 major teaching and research universities in the Midwest. Its programs and activities extend to all aspects of university activity except intercollegiate athletics. The members of the Committee, the chief academic officers of the CIC institutions, meet three times annually to establish CIC guidelines and procedures, to discuss proposed initiatives and evaluate existing programs, and to address collective concerns and policy issues common to these institutions.

The CIC headquarters office is located at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and the office is supported through member university dues. These member universities are University of Chicago, University of Illinois, Indiana University, University of Iowa, University of Michigan, University of Minnesota, Northwestern University, Ohio State University, Pennsylvania State University, Purdue University, and University of Wisconsin.
