For Committee Members

Steering and pillar group committee members will use Google Applications project management software to communicate, collaborate on, review, and share information throughout the strategic planning process.

Committee members can access the Google Apps College of Science Strategic Planning project by using this link. Click here for how to use Google Apps. Please note Pillar committees are not yet able to access Google Apps but will be provided with user names by the end of February.

Instructions for logging into Google Apps:

  1. Click on or paste this link into your browser: http://partnerpage.google.com/science.purdue.edu?hl=en
  2. To see the documents, click on the title “Google Docs” on your main screen.  DO NOT click on the words “sign in to Google Docs.”  Click on the title.
  3. Enter your username and password.  It is NOT your career account. (Contact Amira Zamin at azamin@purdue.edu for assistance with passwords.)
  4. You will be required to change your password when logging in for the first time.
  5. To log in for the first time, fill out the information on the login screen and accept the rules.
  6. If you get an error message at any time, please close out of your browser, open it back up, and try signing in again.
  7. If you still experience problems, please e-mail azamin@purdue.edu. Please copy the error message and paste it into the e-mail.

To edit documents:

  1. If you were very careful to follow step 2 above exactly and then log in via step 3, you will now see the list of documents that are shared with you.
  2. Click on a document to view or edit.  Some documents are for viewing only.  If this is the case, you will not be able to edit it.
  3. The editing works almost exactly like a word processing program. The “Insert” button near the top left allows you to insert a comment in the same way that Word does.
  4. Please add your name and name of committee (one of the four Pillar groups or steering) to your comment or revision.
  5. Click on “Save” at the top right when you are done.
  6. Close out of the window or program as you normally would.
