Trading Technologies

Trading Technologies develops sophisticated front end software for electronically trading the world's major derivatives/futures exchanges. The company was established in the early days of electronic trading and in addition to its headquarters in Chicago, has offices in New York, Houston, London, Frankfurt, Hong Kong, Tokyo and Sydney. A leader in its industry, Trading Technologies estimates that at least 50% of the combined electronic volume on the world's four leading derivatives exchanges moves through the X_TRADER platform.

In the fall of 2006, students in Purdue's computational finance program will begin to use TT's trading software, using real trading data as part of their curriculum, to get hands on experience in futures trading. This is good news for the students, whose skill set and knowledge will be considerably enhanced. This is great news for Trading Technologies and their customers in the banking, brokerage firm, hedge fund and proprietary trading group industries, who will have a larger pool of highly qualified potential candidates to hire from.

Knauf Insulation

Knauf Insulation is a proud supporter of The Hestia Project -- the first corporate partner with Purdue University on this project.

Hestia is a data driven model in which fossil fuel CO2 emissions can be simulated, visualized, analyzed, and used by multiple stake-holders. Hestia came about in response to climate change that is driven primarily by the rising carbon dioxide levels caused by combustion of fossil fuels. The goal of Hestia is to provide everyone with scientific information on carbon dioxide emissions from which decisions about your choices and emissions can be made.

Knauf believes Hestia is a powerful tool that can help inform the public and policy makers about the impact of greenhouse gas emissions and help individuals better understand the need for change. "It is an opportunity to reach beyond what we can do as a product manufacturer," said Bob Claxton, president for Knauf Insulation in North America. "It is a compelling and easy way to deliver information that can drive fundamental change in the home building market towards greater sustainability."

A multinational producer of building materials and construction systems, Knauf has a core business value of being a responsible environmental steward. They recognize that there is a social responsibility to helping address energy efficiency and climate change through more than just operations improvements and the products manufactured. With manufacturing operations in Europe, Russia, UK and the United States, Knauf is committed to sustainable development and conservation of the environment, and manufactures its products using recycled materials.
