New initiatives for a new year

  • Hockmeyer Hall of Structural Biology (right), a Campaign for Purdue building, broke ground on October 19, 2007, and is expected to be
    completed by fall of 2009.
  • President Córdova’s first initiative at Purdue, “Advancing Purdue’s Access, Success, and Diversity Initiatives,” is a $50 million University-wide initiative, launched this fall.
  • New multidisciplinary COALESCE areas have been formed to reflect new and changing priorities. The titles of the COALESCE II areas in the College of Science have been reformulated to the following six:
    • Computational Science
    • Energy
    • Environment
    • Life Sciences
    • Science Education
    • Science of Information and Massive Data end of story
