The Barry M. Goldwater Scholarship and Excellence in Education Program was established by Congress in 1986 to honor Senator Barry M. Goldwater. Four $7500 undergraduate scholarships awarded to two juniors and two seniors in the 2008-2009 academic year -- who have outstanding potential and intend to pursue careers in mathematics, the natural sciences, or engineering.
