Bruce Helfert Memorial Award Dean of Students Office

Annual Award honoring Bruce Helfert (Science '64) of $1000 to student in College of Science or Engineering for their understanding of science and technology and their abiltiy to communicate the effects on humankind. GPA of 3.5 or higher. Selected by committee of Deans, Student representative, & President of Mortar Board. Award presented at University Honors Convocation in April.

Barry Goldwater Scholars Award

The Barry M. Goldwater Scholarship and Excellence in Education Program was established by Congress in 1986 to honor Senator Barry M. Goldwater.  Four $7500 undergraduate scholarships awarded to two juniors and two seniors in the 2008-2009 academic year -- who have outstanding potential and intend to pursue careers in mathematics, the natural sciences, or engineering.  Purdue selections made prior to winter break (Dec 12th).
