Science majors through their teaching abilities.

Teaching Academy
The mission of the Teaching Academy is to provide leadership, and serve
as a catalyst to enhance and strengthen the quality of undergraduate,
graduate, and outreach teaching and learning. The Academy is comprised
of a dedicated and dynamic network of scholar-teachers committed to the
continual improvement of teaching and learning at Purdue University. The
following were appointed in 2004-05:

University Faculty Scholars
This recognition is for outstanding faculty members at the West Lafayette
campus who are on an accelerated path for academic distinction. Eligible
faculty must hold the rank of tenured associate or full professor, and
have been in that rank for no more than five years. New hires appointed
with tenure are also eligible.

Purdue University Herbert Newby McCoy Award for Outstanding Contributions
to Research
The McCoy award is the most prestigious research award given by the University
in the area of science. It is given to the faculty member(s) who have
made the greatest contribution to science over the past year.

PACADA’s Outstanding New Professional Awards
Each year, the Purdue Academic Advising Association selects an advisor
early in their career who presents evidence of effective advising qualities
and practices that distinguish the person as an outstanding, caring, academic
advisor.
