Ten nominated for Lilly Purdue Alumni Scholarship

One lucky incoming freshman in the discipline of chemistry, biology, or computer science will be the recipient of the Lilly Purdue Alumni Scholarship (LPAS).

The LPAS is a full tuition scholarship offered each year to one incoming freshman in the discipline of chemistry, biology, or computer science. The top ten candidates, whose nomination is provided to the undergraduate scholarship director, Kerry Daley, are reviewed by an LPAS committee which provides input in the selection of the award recipient.

According to Daley, a recent LPAS award graduate, Shruthi Rajashekara, "took full advantage of the scholarship opportunity including a study abroad trip." Rajashekara is now considering medical school and is currently a finalist for the Fulbright Program.

"She simply took the MCAT to keep her options open.  She exemplifies the spirit of our new curriculum," said Daley.
