Eleanor Kaplan Award
Eleanor Kaplan began her career at Purdue University in 1979 as the Business
Administrator in the Education Department. She transferred to the School
of Management in 1981, where she spent the rest of her career as a Business
Administrator. Eleanor left each person who knew her with the legacy of
her positive and cheerful attitude and the importance of customer-valued
service.
Through the generosity of an anonymous donor, we are able to honor the
memory of Eleanor and the legacy she has left by recognizing current Administrative
and Clerical staff members in the Business Manager organization who have
demonstrated excellence and leadership in providing customer service.
Recipients of the award receive a $100 cash prize, have their names engraved
on a plaque displayed in Freehafer Hall, and are recognized during an
award ceremony. Two awards are made each year; one to an Administrative
staff member and the other to a Clerical staff member.
