Alumni NewsKen Crawford (Ph.D 2005, Chemistry) is a research chemist with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in Atlanta. Tarangini (Gini) Deshpande (Ph.D 2000, Biological Sciences) reports that she is happily married (happily so) and has a nearly-three-year-old daughter. After a brief stint as a post doc, she moved to the business side as an intern in the tech transfer office at Children's Hospital Boston, eventually becoming a licensing manager. She was director of a pediatric product development initiative focused on developing medical devices for the highly underserved pediatric market. Gini and her family recently moved to California and she’s now in the strategic marketing role at a well known technology company, bringing the voice of the customer back into the company for new product development and go-to-market plans. She says it’s a challenging but fun job, and she’s learning more each day. Kathi Fieldhouse (B.S. 1987, Computer Science) and Mark Chenoweth were married on September 17, 2005. They live in Shererville, Indiana. Kevin Grazier (B.S. 1983, Computer Science) reports that in addition to his job as a scientist on the Cassini Mission to Saturn, he’s now also the science advisor for the PBS animated TV series "The Zula Patrol", and also for the SciFi Channel series "Battlestar Galactica". Peter Hall, Jr. (B.S. 2002, Earth & Atmospheric Sciences) received his Master’s degree in meteorology from the University of Oklahoma in December 2002 and is now the quality assurance manager at Oklahoma Mesonet in Norman, Oklahoma. Clyde Holsapple (B.S. 1972, Mathematics; M.S. 1975, Computer Science) holds the Rosenthal Endowed Chair in Management Information at the University of Kentucky. Dr. Holsapple received the R&D Program Excellence Award from the Governor of Kentucky, and his research article published in Communications of the ACM has been recognized by Thomson’s Essential Science Indicators as among the top 1% in its field based on citations received since 2000. Carolan Weaver (M.S. 1966; Ph.D 1971, Biological Sciences)
