Job Description
I've worked in Science Counseling for 19 years. In 1993, I became the Coordinator of Career Counseling. I now have a joint appointment as a Career Services Consultant with The Center for Career Opportunities and as CCO-Science Coordinator. This new partnership should help our students take advantage of all of the career services available to them. My responsibilities include career counseling, working with employers, and assisting students and alumni with all aspects of their career development.
I love helping students develop and achieve their educational and career goals. It's the individual students and their stories that make my job exciting. It is exhilarating to see a student move from confused and frustrated to directed and motivated. The summer internship that "changed my life", the volunteer experience that made me "drop that career field like a hot potato", the tough course conquered after a second time through --- all of these can be powerful learning tools for students' career and life planning. I love participating in this career development process!
I have a third job as the mother of two teenage boys.
