KileTHENBarbara Kile considers herself semi-retired. In 2001, she retired from a distinguished career with the Department of Defense in order to pursue her lifelong interests in mathematics and teaching. For the past six years, she has been an adjunct associate professor of mathematics at Northern Virginia Community College.  She also served for almost ten years as a board member and treasurer for the Scholarship Fund of Alexandria.  More recently, Kile has begun part-time work with the law firm Kile, Goekjian, Reed & McManus PLLC, where she specializes in technical patent application preparation with a concentration on mathematics.

Since graduating from Purdue, where she was a member of the women’s tennis, field hockey, basketball, and volleyball teams, Kile has continued to be an active tennis player, holding numerous local and regional rankings over a 40-year period.
