Ray W. Chrisman

Ray Chrisman received his doctorate in inorganic chemistry under the guidance of Prof. Stuart Tobias. After leaving Purdue, Ray joined the Dow Chemical Company where he held various technical and line management positions in analytical sciences involving groups responsible for the application of advanced analytical techniques to complex process and sample applications. His first position was as a research chemist and R&D group leader, and he rose in position and responsibility in the company to R&D Manager in Analytical Sciences; Director of Intellectual Asset Management; and finally Chemical Sciences Capability Development Leader. In this position he was responsible for evaluation, development, and implementation of informatics, data mining and high throughput experimentation projects for both batch and continuous production processes whose chemistry spanned Dow's global operations.
In 2004, Ray became president and chief scientist at Atodyne Technologies, LLC, a technology and development commercialization firm focused on rapid characterization technologies for medical applications and development of process analytical and control systems using microtechnology and advanced informatics.
Ray has served on several advisory panels related to various areas of the National Vision 2020 project as well as ones related to industries of the future for the Department of Energy. He has also served on the advisory board to the Center for Process Analytical Chemistry at the University of Washington . In 2005, he became a member of Purdue's Chemistry Department Advisory Committee.
Ray and his wife Nancy live in Midland , Michigan .
