Robert Curry has spent much of his professional life as a venture capitalist, and has invested in and/or managed more than thirty companies over the years. He has served as Chairman of the Board of Directors of Sensys Medical since its inception in 1995, and became Chief Executive Officer in March 2004. Bob joined Alliance Technology Ventures as a Venture Partner in July 2002. Prior to joining ATV, Bob served as both a general and a venture partner at Sprout Group, a venture capital affiliate of Credit Suisse First Boston, where he originated the life sciences investment activity. Bob joined Sprout in 1991 as a General Partner when Sprout assumed management of two public venture capital funds originated by Merrill Lynch & Company, Inc. Bob continues to work with Sprout as a consultant. Previously, Bob worked for Merrill Lynch serving in various capacities with Merrill Lynch R&D Management Inc. and Merrill Lynch Venture Capital Inc., including serving as President of both organizations from January 1990 to May 1991. Bob's previous roles included Vice President of Becton Dickinson & Company and General Manager of Bio-Rad Laboratories, Inc.'s Diagnostic Systems Division. Bob currently serves as a director of Emerald BioAgriculture Corporation, GenOptix, Inc., Pathology Partners, Inc., TriPath Imaging, Inc. and Aperon Biosystems, Inc.

Bob is Chairman of the Board of the Keck Graduate Institute of Applied Life Sciences (KGI) at the Claremont Colleges in Southern California. KGI trains managers and leaders for the biotechnology industry. He and his wife, Winnie, live in Gilroy, California and have four grown children.
