Tanja is a junior majoring in chemistry with a minor in Spanish language and literature.  This is her first year on the WISP leadership team. In addition to WISP, she enjoys volunteering for the Boiler Volunteer Network and the Oral English Proficiency Program here at Purdue.  Tanja is also a member of the American Chemical Society (Purdue Chapter).  She is from Schererville, Indiana, which is very close to the city of Chicago.  In her free time she enjoys spending time in the city, spending time with friends and family, watching travel programs on the Travel Channel, and playing tennis.

Cynthia Chapman

I am a Junior majoring in Neurobiology and Physiology with minors in Chemistry and Religious Studies.  In addition to being a small group leader for WISP, I am also on the community service committee for Sigma Alpha Lambda, a member of Caduceus club, National Scholars Organization, and the National Society of Collegiate Scholars, the President of Sigma Alpha Lambda and a Big Sister in the Big Brothers Big Sisters program in Lafayette.  In my free time, I enjoy running, board games, and baking.  Once I complete my undergraduate degree, I hope to enter medical school and eventually become a surgeon.

Melinda Landwerlen

Melinda is a junior in Interdisciplinary Science, with a chemistry concentration and a Food Science Minor. In addition to being a WISP Leadership Team Member, she is involved with Alpha Lambda Delta Phi Eta Sigma where she served as historian. She is also a member of the Pre-dental Club and loves to volunteer through BVN. In her free time, she enjoys volunteering at local nursing homes, swimming, running, scrapbooking, and cooking. Melinda has wanted to be a dentist for many years and she attended a Summer Medical/Dental program over the summer to learn more about the profession.

Jenna Hoelscher

Jenna is a senior in biology. After spending a summer at Mayo Clinic as an intern in the clinical labs, she has decided to pursue a certification in clinical laboratory science after graduation. Jenna has been a member of WISP and the Purdue Student Union Board since her freshman year. She is also involved in the Tri-Beta Honor Society. She has worked in molecular biology research with Dr. Stauffacher's lab. Jenna is from a suburb of St. Paul, Minnesota and loves spending time in Minneapolis/ St. Paul. She also enjoys reading, playing sports and spending time with family and friends in her free time.

Ashley Robbins

Ashley is in her fifth and final year here at Purdue. She will be finishing a double-major in Biology and Education, and she will also receive biotechnology and chemistry minors. This is her fourth year in WISP and her third year on the Leadership Team. In addition to WISP, Ashley participates as president of the Biology Club and Beta Beta Beta, the Biological Honor Society. Ashley was also a four year veteran of the Purdue “All-American” Marching Band, and she will continue to participate in Purdue Bands in some aspect this year. In Ashley’s free time she enjoys playing piano, crocheting and knitting, exercising, and cooking. Next fall she hopes to be a high school Biology teacher somewhere in Indiana.

Whitney Vann

Whitney is a senior majoring in biochemistry with a minor in Spanish. In addition to being a member of the WISP Leadership Team, she is involved in the Purdue Foundation Student Board, Purdue Science Student Council, Timmy Foundation, Purdue Bands, and the CASPiE Program. In her free time, she enjoys playing tennis, cycling, traveling, and cooking. After studying abroad this summer in Spain, she wants to continue learning about foreign cultures. She plans to attend medical school and hopes to continue utilizing her Spanish on foreign medical mission trips.
