Work Background
After completing my Ph.D. degree, I did research in plant biochemistry in the department of Botany & Plant Pathology and in the Department of Horticulture. I took several courses in computer sciences with an intent towards a degree. In 1993, I joined the HORIZONS program, a student support program in the Dean of Students Office at Purdue, as an instructor and tutor coordinator. This gave me an opportunity to teach and also to work with students on a one-to-one basis. I enjoyed this experience so much that I decided to continue to work with students and not go back to research as I had initially planned. I joined Science Counseling in Fall 1997 and I haved continued to have a rewarding experience here.
