Education
Bachelor of Science in Social Welfare, Purdue University
Master of Science in Health Education, Purdue University
Work Background
My advising experiences include 11 years of work here at Purdue University within a variety of schools. This variety gives me a broad perspective of the University, its many majors and class selections. I have, also, worked in library settings. This work is directly related to my passion for reading. (More in the hobbies area.)
Hobbies/Interests
I am a constant reader. Other hobbies include scrapbooking, old musicals, and travel. But, most of my time is spent with my family. I am always driving a child to swim lessons, baseball games, or other social events that keeps teens busy. My two children, aged 14 and 12, are my biggest accomplishments.
Goals
I believe that Purdue University has much to offer each student. My goal is that you, the student, will make informed decisions and learn through a multitude of experiences on campus. That includes going to classes and putting forth a strong effort in each class. I hope to assist you with this goal.
Advice for students
My students tell me that while a high grade point average is good, be sure to include activities into your life. Be a supporter of the College of Science by being a council member. Become a representative on your floor in the hall. Spend time in intramural sports. There is a great big world of experiences out there waiting for you on this campus. I know that learning occurs inside and outside the classroom. It is up to you to grab those opportunities and grow.
